To add a website to your LinkedIn profile, open your profile, click Contact info, click the Edit icon, then Add website. You can add up to three websites there, and LinkedIn says your webpage may be visible to all members. For a link people can see without clicking anything, add it to your Featured section, or use the Premium custom button if your plan includes it.

Add a website to your contact info

This is the standard place for a website link, and it works on every LinkedIn account. LinkedIn shows the websites you add in the Contact info section at the top of your profile, up to three of them.

On desktop:

  1. Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
  2. Click View Profile.
  3. Click Contact info in your introduction section.
  4. In the Contact Info pop-up window, click the Edit icon.
  5. Click Add website, then paste or type the address into the Website URL field.
  6. Choose a Website type from the dropdown.
  7. Click Save.

On the mobile app:

  1. Tap your profile photo, then tap View profile.
  2. Tap the Edit icon in your introduction section.
  3. On the Edit intro page, scroll down and tap Edit contact info under Contact info.
  4. Tap Add website, enter the Website URL and choose a Website type.
  5. Tap Save.

To take a website off, open the same Edit contact info window, select Remove under that website and save.

Contact info also holds your profile URL, email address, phone number, messenger accounts and birthday. LinkedIn keeps most contact details visible only to your 1st-degree connections, but your webpage or blog URL may be visible to all members, so a website you add here can reach people outside your network.

The weak spot of contact info is that people have to click into it. The Featured section appears near the top of your profile itself, where visitors see it without opening anything. LinkedIn lets you feature your own posts, articles you published on LinkedIn, uploaded media, and links to external websites such as your blog or portfolio.

If you have never added anything to Featured, start here on desktop:

  1. Click the Me icon, then View Profile.
  2. Click the Add profile section button in your introduction section.
  3. Open the Recommended dropdown and click Add Featured.
  4. Click the Add icon on the upper right of the Featured page.
  5. Select the type of work sample you want to feature (a link, in this case) and follow the prompts.
  6. Click Save or Done.

On mobile, tap your profile photo, then View profile, tap Add section, tap Recommended and select Add featured.

Once a link is in Featured, click the Edit icon on the section to change its title and description, reorder items (you need at least two), or remove it. A removed item can't be restored, so you would have to add it again from scratch. Featuring items from other parts of your profile, like Experience or Projects, is a Premium Business, Sales Navigator and Recruiter feature, but external links are part of the regular Featured section.

Use the custom button if your plan has it

The custom button is a button in your introduction section that links to a URL you choose. LinkedIn's help center says it is available only to a select group of Premium Business, Sales Navigator and Recruiter Lite subscribers, and that it may reach more members in the future. A separate LinkedIn help page describes it as available to Premium Business subscribers and Sales Navigator and Recruiter customers, so if you have one of those plans and don't see the option, it may not have reached your account yet.

You choose one label for the button:

  • Visit my store
  • Visit my website
  • View my portfolio
  • View my blog
  • Book an appointment
  • View my newsletter
  • View my services

To add it on desktop:

  1. Click the Me icon, then View profile.
  2. Click Add custom button in your introduction section.
  3. Pick one of the options in the Add custom button pop-up.
  4. Add your link in the URL box.
  5. Click Done.

To change or remove it later, click the Edit icon in your introduction section, scroll to Premium custom button and click Edit custom button. The Increase button visibility toggle controls whether the button also shows on your posts, messages and search results. It is On by default.

One thing to know before you add it: a profile can show either services or a custom button. If you added services, adding or editing the custom button replaces them.

No longer. LinkedIn used to let members add a hyperlink to the introduction section through Creator Mode. It has removed that option, and LinkedIn's help center now says website links in the intro are supported through the Premium custom button. Older articles that tell you to turn on Creator Mode to get a link at the top of your profile are out of date: LinkedIn removed the Creator Mode toggle, with the change expected in March 2024.

If you don't have Premium, your choices are the three contact info websites and Featured.

Your Follow link also lives in Contact info, under Sharing on socials. With Copy link or Copy code you can place it on your website, in emails or on other platforms so anyone can follow you in one click. It works in the reverse direction: it brings people to LinkedIn.

If you have more than three places to send people, such as a portfolio, a booking page, a newsletter and a shop, a single link page is a tidy fix. Put one link in your contact info (and in Featured, or your custom button if you have it), and keep everything else on that page. When something changes, you update the page instead of editing LinkedIn. Our guide to what a link in bio means explains the idea, and adding a link in bio on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook covers the same link on other platforms.

Olaa is one way to make that page. You get one short link, olaa.im/yourname, which opens a page with everything you want people to find. The free plan includes one page with unlimited links, website previews, social icons, Calendly bookings and Google Forms that open on the page, a QR code and 7 days of analytics. Setup takes a few minutes and needs no code. Olaa Pro, at $8 a month or $72 a year, adds a contact form, email signups sent to Mailchimp, up to 10 pages and 30 and 90 day analytics. FAQ

How many websites can I add to my LinkedIn profile?

You can add up to three websites in the Contact info section. Beyond that, you can add external links to your Featured section, and Premium Business subscribers with access can add one custom button.

Why can't I see the custom button option?

LinkedIn says the custom button is available only to a select group of Premium Business, Sales Navigator and Recruiter Lite subscribers. If you don't have one of those plans, the option won't appear. Even on those plans LinkedIn says only a select group has it, so it may not show yet.

Can people outside my network see my website?

They can. LinkedIn keeps most contact details visible only to 1st-degree connections, but says information such as your webpage or blog URL may be visible to all members.

Is Creator Mode still needed to add a link?

No. LinkedIn removed the Creator Mode toggle and the hyperlink option that came with it. A link in your introduction section now comes from the Premium custom button.

How do I remove a website from LinkedIn?

Go to your profile, click Contact info, click the Edit icon, then click Remove under the website and save. On mobile, the same option is under Edit intro, then Edit contact info.
