How to Add Your Instagram Link to TikTok in 2026
Add a working Instagram link to your TikTok profile now that the Instagram button is gone, check if you qualify, and put all your links in one place.

TikTok no longer has a dedicated Instagram button. To link your Instagram now, add it as a website link: open Profile, tap Edit profile, tap Add next to Links, and enter the web address of your Instagram profile. The Links field is available once you have 1,000 followers or a Verified Business Account.
The Instagram button on Edit profile is gone
TikTok's Edit profile screen used to have separate fields for Instagram and YouTube. Those dedicated fields have been removed, leaving a website field in their place.
TikTok's help center explains the rule behind it: TikTok "no longer supports links that open or log you into other social media apps." The same page says you can still add links that direct people to those platforms' websites. So the Instagram link itself is allowed. What changed is how you add it, and who can.
That's why so many people search for the steps and come up empty. If you tap through Edit profile looking for "Add Instagram", you won't find it. The Links field is the way in now.
Add your Instagram as a website link
If your account has the Links field, this takes under a minute. From TikTok's help page on profile links:
- In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
- Tap Edit profile.
- Next to Links, tap Add.
- Follow the steps to add your website. Use the regular web address of your Instagram profile, not an app link.
The link then shows on your profile. When someone taps it, TikTok's in-app browser opens the page. TikTok applies safety limits to how people browse chains of external links inside that browser, so some visitors may see a message asking them to open the page in their phone's web browser instead. That happens on every account and isn't a sign you did something wrong.
TikTok also recommends direct links, so people reach the page they want in just a few steps. A link straight to your Instagram profile meets that easily.
Once it's saved, tap the link from your own profile and check where it lands. If you typed the address by hand, a missing letter in your handle sends people to someone else's page, or to nothing at all. It's a ten second check that saves you from a week of lost visits.
Who gets the Links field
Not every account can add a website. TikTok's rule:
| Your account | Can add a website link? |
|---|---|
| Fewer than 1,000 followers | No |
| 1,000 followers or more | Yes |
| Verified Business Account, any follower count | Yes |
Business verification is optional and open to TikTok accounts of all types and sizes, in markets that include the US, UK, Canada and Australia. Verified Business Accounts still have to follow the Community Guidelines: violations can trigger a re-verification period, and a manually verified account must then go 30 days with zero violations to get its status back. Losing verification also means losing the features that come with it.
Where available, TikTok also lets you add a Lemon8 account to your profile.

Under 1,000 followers: what you can do today
Until you qualify for a link, your bio and your videos have to do the work.
- Write your Instagram handle in your bio. It costs only a few of your 80 characters, and people can search for it on Instagram. Something like "More behind the scenes on IG: @yourname" fits easily.
- Use the same username on both apps. Your TikTok username is the @tag in your profile link, so matching handles make you easy to find. TikTok usernames can only be changed once every 30 days, so decide before you switch.
- Say it in your videos. A quick "the full recipe is on my Instagram" at the end of a clip tells people where to go.

Instagram and your other links, in one place
Here's the catch once you do qualify: TikTok gives you one website field. If you put your Instagram there, there's no room left for your shop, your newest YouTube video or your booking page.
Instagram works differently. It lets you add up to five websites from Edit profile, then Links, so on that side you have room. On TikTok, the practical answer is a link page: one link that opens a page listing everything, with Instagram as one of the buttons. Since TikTok recommends direct links, keep that page short and clear, so the thing people came for is one tap away.
When you set it up, use a link page that loads as a normal website, since TikTok only supports links that go to websites rather than straight into another app. The same link works in your Instagram bio too. Our guide to adding a link to your Instagram bio covers that side.
Using Olaa for your TikTok link
Olaa is a link in bio tool that gives you one short link, olaa.im/yourname, opening a page with everything you want people to find. You paste that one link in TikTok's Links field and add your Instagram, YouTube and the rest as social icons and links on the page.
The free plan includes one page with unlimited links, social icons, every look, font and background, a theme pulled from one photo, players for Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, YouTube, Vimeo and TikTok that play on the page, a QR code and 7 days of analytics. Setup takes a few minutes and needs no code.
If you sell, Olaa Pro ($8 a month or $72 a year) adds products from Stripe, Etsy, Shopify or Gumroad with photo and price, with checkout in your own shop and no cut taken by Olaa. You can compare plans on the pricing page or see the Olaa page for TikTok creators.
FAQ
Why can't I find the Add Instagram option on TikTok?
TikTok removed the dedicated Instagram and YouTube fields from Edit profile. Its help center says it no longer supports links that open or log you into other social media apps. Add your Instagram as a website link in the Links field instead.
Can I add my Instagram link to TikTok with fewer than 1,000 followers?
Not as a clickable link, unless you have a Verified Business Account. TikTok gives the website field to accounts with at least 1,000 followers or a Verified Business Account. In the meantime, write your @handle in your bio so people can search for it.
Is it allowed to link to Instagram on TikTok?
Yes. TikTok's help center says you can still add links that direct people to other platforms' websites. What isn't supported is a link that opens or logs you into another social media app.
Can I add both Instagram and YouTube to my TikTok profile?
The separate Instagram and YouTube fields are gone, and TikTok gives you one website field. To show both, link to a single page that lists Instagram, YouTube and anything else you want to share.
What should I do if a link on someone's TikTok profile looks suspicious?
Tap the link, tap the More options (...) button at the top, then tap Report and follow the steps. TikTok also advises checking that a site is legitimate and secure before you enter any personal information on it.
