How to Put Your VSCO in Your Instagram Bio

Find your VSCO profile link in the app or on the web, add it to your Instagram links in a minute, and fix it when the link won't open or won't save.

Your VSCO link is simply vsco.co/ followed by your VSCO username, for example vsco.co/maya-shoots. To put it in your Instagram bio, open Instagram, go to Edit profile > Links > Add external link, paste that address and tap Done. VSCO's own help center says to always include vsco.co/ before your username, and that's the fix if the link doesn't work.

The link is built from your VSCO Profile name, which is your unique username. It isn't your Title, which is your display name. So the first job is to check the exact username.

In the VSCO app:

  1. Open the VSCO app and tap the Profile icon.
  2. Tap the three dot menu in the top right and select Edit Profile.
  3. Under My info, your current Profile name is shown, with Edit next to it.

VSCO's sharing article describes a slightly different route: tap your Profile icon, then tap Edit, which opens a menu where you can share your profile straight to messages, email, Instagram and other apps. The app layout can vary, so use whichever one you see.

On vsco.co in a browser:

  1. Go to your Profile.
  2. Click the pencil icon in the top right corner.
  3. Click My info (or the lock icon). Your Profile Name is listed there.

Once you have the username, your link is vsco.co/ plus that username. Typing it yourself is the most reliable way to get it right, since it doesn't depend on which share menu your version of the app shows.

Instagram gives every account up to five links on its profile. Here are the steps from Instagram's help center:

  1. In the Instagram app, tap Profile or your profile picture in the bottom right.
  2. Tap Edit profile at the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Links, then tap Add external link.
  4. Type or paste your VSCO link, such as vsco.co/maya-shoots.
  5. Tap Done, then tap Back.

Do this on your phone. Instagram's help center says adding a website to your profile isn't available on computers, only in the iPhone and Android apps. Our guide to Instagram bio links covers every other part of this, including ordering and removing links.

If VSCO isn't your most important link, move it down. Go to Edit profile > Links, tap Options, then Reorder links, and drag VSCO where you want it.

Most problems come down to the address itself.

  • The link opens the wrong page or nothing at all. Check that it starts with vsco.co/ and that the username matches your Profile name exactly. VSCO's help center says if your profile link doesn't work, use vsco.co/ followed by your username.
  • You used your display name. Your Title is a display name, not the username in your link. VSCO Profile names use only letters, numbers and dashes, with no periods, underscores or capital letters.
  • You changed your VSCO username. Your link is built from it, so update the link on Instagram to the new vsco.co/ address.
  • Instagram won't save your profile. Instagram says a save error can happen when you've entered something not allowed, like certain characters or links that ask someone to add you on another service. Retype the link without extra characters and try again.

One more thing to know before you share: VSCO says your Profile is public, and there's no setting to hide your whole account or Grid. Anyone who taps your link can see what you post there. If you'd rather share a set of photos with a smaller group, you can use a Gallery, which doesn't live on your public Profile and opens in a browser with just the link. Pro and One members can add a password to a Gallery.

Other places to share your VSCO

The bio isn't the only spot.

A story link sticker. Instagram's link sticker puts a tappable link in your story, and people who tap it go to the linked website. When you share a photo or video to your story, tap Stickers at the top and choose Link, then paste your vsco.co/ address. It's a good way to point people to a new VSCO post right when you publish it, since stories expire after 24 hours and your bio stays. Link stickers work in regular stories, not in ads. If you don't see the sticker, Instagram suggests updating the app. Step by step help is in our guide to adding a link to an Instagram story.

A mention in your bio text. Your bio can be up to 150 characters, so a short line like "more photos on VSCO" tells people what the link is for.

A link page. If VSCO is one of many things you want people to find, a single link page can hold all of them, with VSCO as one button among your shop, portfolio and other profiles.

With five Instagram links, VSCO usually earns a spot if photography is a big part of who you are online. A few simple orders that work:

  • Photographer or creative: portfolio or VSCO first, then booking or contact, then other profiles.
  • Shop or small business: shop first, then VSCO as a look book, then newsletter.
  • Personal account: VSCO first, then TikTok, Spotify or whatever else you share most.

Keep VSCO and everything else on one Olaa page

If five links feel tight, Olaa gives you one link, olaa.im/yourname, for your Instagram bio. The free plan includes one page with unlimited links, social icons, featured cards and website previews, so your VSCO can sit beside your portfolio, shop and other profiles. You can pull a theme from one photo, which suits a photography page, and you get a QR code and 7 days of analytics to see whether people actually tap through to VSCO. Setup takes a few minutes and needs no code. See how Olaa works on Instagram or everything that's included.

FAQ

What is my VSCO link?

It's vsco.co/ followed by your VSCO Profile name, which is your username. You can check your Profile name in the app under the three dot menu, Edit Profile, My info, or on the web by clicking the pencil icon on your Profile.

Why doesn't my VSCO link work on Instagram?

Usually the address is missing vsco.co/ or the username is wrong. VSCO's help center says to add vsco.co/ before your username, and if the link still doesn't work, to use vsco.co/ followed by your username. Make sure you used your Profile name, not your display name.

Can I add my VSCO to my Instagram bio from a computer?

No. Instagram's help center says adding a website to your profile isn't available on computers. Use the Instagram app on your iPhone or Android phone.

Can I make my VSCO private before I link it?

Not your whole profile. VSCO says your Profile and Grid are public and there's no setting to hide them. To share photos with a smaller group, use a VSCO Gallery, which can have a password on Pro and One memberships.

How many links can I have in my Instagram bio?

Up to five. Instagram lets you add, remove and reorder them under Edit profile > Links.
