Free Link in Bio Tools: What Each Free Plan Really Includes
Compare the free plans of Linktree, Beacons, Later, Carrd and Olaa, see what each leaves out, and decide whether a free link in bio is enough for you.

Every tool covered here has a free plan that gives you a link page at no cost. The differences are in what comes with it: how much analytics history you get, whether the tool's branding stays on your page, and how big a cut it takes if you sell something. Here is what each free plan includes as of October 2026, checked against each company's own pricing and help pages.
What you get free on each tool
Linktree Free. Linktree calls its free plan "Free with restrictions." You get unlimited basic links, email and phone sign-ups, a QR code and one featured link. Analytics cover the last 28 days. Link scheduling, redirects and animated links start on Starter, and hiding the Linktree logo from your page and QR code takes Pro or Premium. Our guide on whether Linktree is free goes deeper on the plan.
Beacons Free. Beacons' help center lists unlimited links, a media kit, page customization, 5 link in bio pages, 50 email sends a month and a store with a 9% transaction fee. Removing the Beacons logo comes with Creator Plus at $30 a month. The Beacons link in bio guide covers the setup.
Later's free Link in Bio. Later's help center still lists a Free plan, and it includes "a customizable Link in Bio page." On it you get unlimited buttons, one of each social link, a single link on each Instagram post, a TikTok feed with links, a premade theme and 3 months of click data. The page shows a Later branded banner. There is one catch: Later's pricing page shows only paid plans with a 14-day trial, so the free plan is easier to find in the help center than on the pricing page. See Later's Link in Bio for how it ties into scheduling.
Carrd's free plan. Carrd builds simple one-page sites rather than being a dedicated link in bio tool, but a one-page site works as a link page. Free accounts can build up to three sites using Carrd's core features, published to a .carrd.co address. Free sites carry "Made with Carrd" branding, and QR codes, custom domains, forms and site analytics all need a Pro plan.
The free plans side by side

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Links | Unlimited basic links | Unlimited | Unlimited buttons | Not stated | Unlimited |
| Extra pages | Not stated | 5 link in bio pages | Not stated | 3 sites | 1 page (Pro: up to 10) |
| Analytics | Last 28 days | Per-link clicks | Last 3 months | Not on free | 7 days |
| Tool branding | Linktree logo stays | Beacons logo stays | Later banner | "Made with Carrd" | Olaa badge stays |
| QR code | Yes | Not stated | Not stated | Pro Lite and up | Yes |
| Selling | 12% fee on digital products (see note) | Store with 9% fee | Not stated | Not stated | Product cards need Pro |
| Cheapest upgrade | Starter, $6/mo yearly or $8 monthly | Creator, $10/mo | Starter, $18.75/mo yearly | Pro Lite, $9/yr | Pro, $8/mo or $72/yr |
A note on Linktree selling: its pricing table lists a 12% fee on digital products and courses on Free, 9% on Starter and Pro, and 0% on Premium. The Pro plan card on the same page says "Sell and earn with 0% fees," and Linktree's help center says selling digital products needs a Pro or Premium plan. Check the current terms in your account before you price anything. Stripe's processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 applies on every plan, and selling is limited to certain countries.
What free plans usually leave out
The free tiers share the same three gaps.
Branding. None of these free plans removes the tool's logo or banner. On Linktree that takes Pro, on Beacons Creator Plus, on Later Starter and on Carrd Pro Lite. For most personal pages this is a small thing. For a business that wants the page to look like its own, it is often the first reason to pay.
Analytics depth. Free plans show recent numbers and little else. Linktree keeps 28 days and saves per-link insights for Starter and traffic source, location and audience insights for Pro. Later keeps 3 months on free and up to a year on Starter. Carrd has no analytics on its free plan; third-party site analytics start on Pro Standard at $19 a year. If you want to compare this month with last quarter, a free plan will not get you there.
Selling fees. Free plans that let you sell take a bigger cut. Beacons charges 9% on Free and on Creator, and 0% only from Creator Plus. Linktree's table shows 12% on Free. Payment processors such as Stripe and PayPal charge their own fees on top of the platform fee on every plan.
Smaller things also tend to sit behind the paywall: link scheduling and redirects on Linktree, SEO settings and custom UTM tags on Later, and custom domains on Beacons (Creator) and Carrd (Pro Standard).
How Olaa's free plan compares
Olaa (olaa.im) is a link in bio tool that gives you one short link, olaa.im/yourname, for everything you want people to find. The free plan includes one page with unlimited links, every look, font and background, and a theme pulled from one photo. Music and video players from Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, YouTube, Vimeo and TikTok play right on the page. You also get featured cards, website previews, social icons, Calendly bookings and Google Forms that open on the page, a QR code and 7 days of analytics.
Olaa Pro is $8 a month or $72 a year. It adds products with a photo and price from Stripe, Etsy, Shopify or Gumroad, shown as a button or a buy card. Checkout happens in your own shop and Olaa takes no cut. Pro also adds email signups sent to Mailchimp, a contact form, grids and carousels, photo galleries, countdowns, scheduled links, a redirect, link animations, 30 and 90 day analytics, up to 10 pages and no Olaa badge. Setup takes a few minutes and needs no code. You can see the full list on the features page and compare plans on pricing.
When it's worth paying
A free plan is enough when your page is a menu of links: your latest video, your shop, your socials, a booking link. If you check your numbers once a week and don't mind a small logo at the bottom, there is little reason to upgrade.
Paying starts to make sense in these cases:
- You sell through the page. A percentage fee grows with your sales while a subscription stays flat. On Beacons, for example, 9% of $400 in monthly sales is $36, which is more than Creator Plus costs. Work out your own numbers before choosing.
- You want the page to look fully yours. Removing the logo is a paid feature on every tool here.
- You need history. If you run campaigns or report to clients, 7 to 90 days of data is not enough.
- You need more than one page. Beacons gives 5 link in bio pages free and Carrd 3 sites. Olaa's free plan has one page and Pro allows up to 10.
- You want scheduling or redirects. Timed links for launches and drops are paid features on Linktree and Olaa.
If none of these apply yet, start free and upgrade when one does. For a wider look at the options, see our roundup of Linktree alternatives.
FAQ
What is the best free link in bio tool?
It depends on what you need from the free plan. Beacons gives 5 pages free and a store, Later's free plan ties into its post scheduler, and Linktree offers 28 days of analytics. If you want music and video that play on the page, Olaa's free plan includes those players.
Is there a free Linktree alternative?
Yes. Beacons, Later, Carrd and Olaa all have free plans. Each keeps its own branding on the free page, so compare analytics, page count and selling fees to choose.
Can I remove the branding on a free link in bio?
Not on any of the tools covered here. Linktree needs Pro, Beacons needs Creator Plus, Later needs Starter, Carrd needs Pro Lite and Olaa needs Pro to remove the tool's logo or banner.
Do free link in bio tools take a cut of sales?
Some do. Beacons takes 9% on its Free plan, and Linktree's pricing table lists 12% on digital products for Free. Payment processors like Stripe charge their own fees on every plan. Olaa Pro shows products from your own shop and takes no cut.
Does Later still have a free Link in Bio?
Later's help center lists a Free plan that includes a customizable Link in Bio page with a Later banner and 3 months of click data. Its pricing page only shows paid plans with a 14-day free trial, so if you can't find the free option at sign-up, ask Later's support.
