Linktree turns your Instagram bio link into a page that holds all your links, at an address like linktr.ee/yourusername. Sign up at Linktree, add your links, then in Instagram go to Edit profile > Links > Add external link and paste your full Linktree URL. The free plan covers unlimited links; paid plans start at $6 a month billed annually.
What Linktree does on Instagram
Instagram gives you room for up to 5 links on your profile, and only the first one shows in full on your bio. Everything else hides behind a tap. A link in bio page solves that: you put one link in your bio, and it opens a page with buttons for your shop, your latest video, your booking form and anything else. If you're new to the idea, our explainer on what link in bio means covers it in a minute.
With Linktree, your page lives at linktr.ee followed by your username, and you manage it on the web or in Linktree's iOS and Android apps.
Set up your Linktree
- Go to Linktree and select Sign up.
- Enter your email address. Check it for typos, because you need it to verify your account.
- Choose a username. It becomes the end of your link, so pick your Instagram handle or brand name.
- Select a plan. Free is fine to start.
- Follow the prompts to add your first links and pick a theme.
To add more links later:
- From My Linktree, select Edit.
- In the Links tab, select + Add.
- Enter the URL, or search for a Link App.
- Add a Title, the text that appears on the button.
- Optionally choose a thumbnail and a layout.
Put your most important link first, since it's the one people see without scrolling.
Add your Linktree link to your Instagram bio
Instagram only lets you add links in the app on Android or iPhone, not on a computer.
- Tap Profile or your profile picture in the bottom right.
- Tap Edit profile.
- Tap Links, then Add external link.
- Paste your full Linktree URL, including https://, for example https://linktr.ee/yourusername.
- Tap Done.
If you already have other links on your profile, drag your Linktree link to the top so it's the one shown on your bio. With more than one link, Instagram shows the first in full and adds a short note like "and 1 other" beside it. Your links are public: anyone, on or off Instagram, can see them. Our full guide to adding a link to your Instagram bio covers what to do when Instagram won't save a link.
When the link isn't clickable, the usual cause is a missing https:// at the start. Linktree's own help page recommends always pasting the full address.
What Linktree costs today
These are the US prices on Linktree's pricing page in October 2026. Linktree notes that pricing varies by region.
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually | Main additions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | Unlimited basic links, email and phone sign-ups, QR code, 28 days of analytics |
| Starter | $8/mo | $6/mo | Unlimited featured links, link analytics, scheduled links, redirects, animated links, 90 days of analytics |
| Pro | $15/mo | $12/mo | Remove Linktree branding, custom designs, Mailchimp and other mailing list integrations, YouTube embeds, SEO settings, 365 days of analytics |
| Premium | $35/mo | $30/mo | Link rules and routing, AI integrations, all-time analytics, data export, social media scheduling, unlimited Instagram auto-replies |
Pro and Premium come with a 7 day free trial.
A simple way to choose: stay on Free if you only need a list of buttons in your bio. Starter makes sense once you want to schedule links for a launch or see which links get clicked. Pro is the first plan that removes the Linktree logo and connects a mailing list, and Premium is for people who also want social scheduling, Instagram auto-replies and data export in the same place.
If you plan to sell, check the fees. Linktree's plan comparison lists a fee on digital products and courses of 12% on Free, 9% on Starter, 9% on Pro and 0% on Premium, while the Pro plan card itself says "Sell and earn with 0% fees", so confirm the current figure before you rely on it. Stripe processing applies on top on every plan: 2.9% + $0.30 per purchase. For more detail on what you get without paying, see is Linktree free.
Pros and cons of Linktree for Instagram
What works well
- The free plan has unlimited links, which covers most people.
- Setup is quick, and there are apps for managing your page on your phone.
- Selling, courses and email sign-ups are built in.
What to weigh
- The Linktree logo stays on your page until Pro, at $12 a month billed annually.
- Free analytics only go back 28 days.
- Scheduled links and redirects need Starter, and YouTube embeds need Pro.
- Selling on Free or Starter carries a platform fee on top of Stripe's.
None of these are dealbreakers. They just decide which plan you end up paying for.
Alternatives, including Olaa
Plenty of tools do the same job, and the right one depends on what your page needs to hold. Our roundup of Linktree alternatives compares the main options side by side.
Olaa is one of them. Your link is olaa.im/yourname, and setup takes a few minutes with no code. The free plan includes unlimited links, every look, font and background, music and video players that play on the page (Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok), Calendly bookings and Google Forms that open on the page, a QR code and 7 days of analytics.
Olaa Pro costs $8 a month or $72 a year. It adds products with photo and price from Stripe, Etsy, Shopify or Gumroad, where checkout happens in your own shop and Olaa takes no cut, email signups sent to Mailchimp, scheduled links, a redirect, 30 and 90 day analytics, up to 10 pages and no Olaa badge. The tradeoff: Olaa's free analytics cover 7 days, where Linktree's cover 28. See the full feature list or compare plans.
FAQ
Is Linktree free for Instagram?
Yes. The Free plan includes unlimited basic links and email and phone sign-ups, and you can put its link in your Instagram bio at no cost. Removing the Linktree logo, longer analytics and some features need a paid plan.
How do I add Linktree to my Instagram bio?
Copy your full Linktree URL, including https://. In the Instagram app, tap your profile picture, then Edit profile > Links > Add external link, paste it and tap Done. You can't do this on a computer.
Why isn't my Linktree link clickable on Instagram?
Usually the address is missing https:// at the start, so Instagram doesn't treat it as a link. Delete it, paste the full URL from Linktree again and save.
Do I still need Linktree if Instagram allows 5 links?
Not always. If five links are enough and you don't mind visitors tapping to see the rest, Instagram's own links work. A link page helps when you have more than five things to share, or want them shown with images, players or a shop.
How much is Linktree Pro?
In the US, Linktree Pro is $15 a month billed monthly or $12 a month billed annually. Starter is $8 or $6, and Premium is $35 or $30. Prices vary by region.
Can I use the same Linktree link on TikTok and YouTube?
Yes. The same linktr.ee address works in your TikTok bio, your YouTube channel links, LinkedIn, an email signature or printed materials through a QR code. See our guides to adding a link to your TikTok bio and adding links to your YouTube channel for each platform's steps.
